Lütfi Elvan, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, stated that the number of passengers traveling by air in the first quarter of the year increased by 17 percent compared to the same period last year and exceeded 31 million, 'Air transportation is also running to the record this year. "It would not be surprising that the number of passengers reached 170 million at the end of the year." Minister Elvan evaluated the airline statistics of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ) in the first quarter of 2014. Reminding that the number of passengers, which was 2002 million in 36, increased to 2013 million at the end of 150, Elvan stated that the aviation industry made a good start in 2014.
INVESTMENT
Minister Elvan said, "We are approaching the end at Hakkari Airport, we will put it into service very soon." Reminding that the works for the 3rd airport in Istanbul are continuing, Elvan stated that their investments in the aviation field will continue without slowing down.
