Bucaya in 3 Years After Tram: Metro Promise: Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu announced to Buca that in 3 years a tram and then the metro will come.
According to the statement made by the Metropolitan Municipality, Kocaoğlu, who visited the Buca Aegean Clothing Organized Industrial Zone (BEGOS), met with business people.
Indicating that they have made significant investments with newly opened roads, crossroads, underpasses and overpasses, Kocaoğlu noted that the Homeros Boulevard, called “Uçanyol”, planned a 2-kilometer viaduct to connect to the bus station and then to the ring road.
Stating that they will make expropriation of 100 million lira for this and they will open a main artery that will not bring a significant part of Buca and Karabağlar to Ankara Street with a total investment of 200 million lira. She reported.
Kocaoğlu, who suggested that they wanted to implement the Buca tram before, but that the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications said “we will do it” and then “they had no project, we couldn't do it”, Kocaoğlu announced that they would prepare the project of the subway.
Stating that they will make Buca's tram within 3 years, Kocaoğlu stated that the metro works will take longer because it will pass under Yeşildere.
BEGOS Chairman Timur Yaykıran said that the organized industrial zone was established 18 years ago and provided employment for 10 thousand people. Stating that they have received great support from the mayors since the establishment of the region, Yaykıran thanked Kocaoğlu for opening Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Avenue, which they had previously requested.
Yaykıran stated that this street has become a very important connection road not only for the organized industrial zone, but also for the universities and residences in the region, and that their biggest problem is to reach the ring road and İzmir, and asked for support from Kocaoğlu.
BEGOS President Timur Yaykıran gave a thank-you plaque to the meeting in which CHP İzmir Deputy Alaattin Yüksel and CHP Buca Mayor candidate Levent Piriştina participated.
