GSM companies started to race for mobile communications

GSM companies started to race for mobile communications at HSEs: GSM operators started negotiations to provide uninterrupted communication to passengers to be transported on YHT line
Predicting that a large number of passengers will be transported on the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed Train (YHT) line, GSM operators started negotiations with the General Directorate of TCDD to provide uninterrupted mobile communication. GSM-R, the first application of which was carried out in Europe in 2000, was integrated into YHT infrastructures by the General Directorate of TCDD. Installing this system on the Eskişehir-Haydarpaşa line, TCDD opened the infrastructure of the system to the use of GSM operators. GSM operators and TCDD officials started negotiations before the line went into service. On the other hand, in accordance with the decision of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority regarding the use of a common base station, pollution was prevented by the mobile enterprises placing a common base station on this line, but the mountainous area of the line increased the number of the base stations. Thanks to the GSM-R system, fast and uninterrupted communication can be established between the control center and YHT sets and trains. If the operators demand, there is no interruption during the mobile communication in YHTs, so that the passengers get comfortable mobile communication and Internet access with 3G support.
GSM-R SYSTEM is being developed
Ankara-Eskişehir YHT line, Ankara-Konya and Eskişehir-Konya YHT lines in the GSM-R system, the first part of Ankara-Istanbul YHT line will be in service on the Eskişehir-Köseköy line. The system will then be installed on the Köseköy-Haydarpaşa line and on the Ankara-İzmir and Ankara-Sivas high-speed train lines.
