TÜVASAŞ has been carrying out special projects for the development of the railway industry since 1962, where it produced the first wagon. In the journeys they started in wagon repair shop, the company, which grew up with the Turkish railway industry, has now reached a point where high-speed equipped high-speed trains and tube passages, now known as the project of the century, are now being put up too high and the world follows these targets with interest. With TÜVESAŞ General Manager Erol İnal and investments in 10 billion dollars in the last 26 year, we had a special interview on the steps to be taken in the 2023 billion dollar targets for 45 year and the key tasks of TÜVASAŞ in this way. TÜVASAŞ’ın kuruluşu ve misyonu hakkında bilgi verir misiniz?
1951 yılında, “Adapazarı Vagon Atölyesi” adıyla vagon tamir atölyesi olarak faaliyete geçen TÜVASAŞ, 1964 yılından itibaren vagon üretimine başlamıştır. TÜVASAŞ bu sayede yalnızca TCDD’nin yolcu vagon ihtiyacını karşılayıp dışa bağımlılığı ortadan kaldırmakla kalmamış, aynı zamanda bakım onarım ve yedek parça imalatı da yaparak bu konudaki talebi de tamamen karşılar hale gelmiştir.
Unvanı ve statüsü 1975 yılında “Adapazarı Vagon Sanayi Müessesesi” olarak değişen şirket 28.03.1986 tarih ve 86/10527 sayılı Bakanlar Kurulu kararıyla da TCDD Genel Müdürlüğünün bağlı ortaklığı statüsünde “Türkiye Vagon Sanayi Anonim Şirketi TÜVASAŞ unvanını almıştır. Şirketimiz günümüzde de halen bu statüsünü koruyarak faaliyetini sürdürmektedir.
İhracat miktarının toplam üretim ve satışa oranı ile hangi ülkelere ihracat yaptığınıza dair bilgilendirir misiniz?
Fabrikamızda TVS 2000 serisi Lüks Pulman, Kompartımanlı, Konferans, Kuşetli, Yemekli, Yataklı, Salon Vagon, Jeneratör Vagon ve Dizel Tren Set üretimi ve çeşitli modellerde vagon modernizasyonu yapılmaktadır.
Üretim ve ihracatımız siparişe dayalı olduğundan yıllara göre farklılık arz etmektedir. TÜVASAŞ ilk ihracatını 1971 yılında yapılan çalışmalar neticesinde Pakistan ve Bangladeş’e toplam 77 adet vagon ihraç ederek gerçekleştirmiştir.
Son yıllarda yurtdışına vagon ihracatı çalışmalarına hız verilmiş, Irak Demiryolları için 2005 yılında imalatına başlanan 14 adet jeneratör vagon, 28 Mayıs 2006 tarihinde teslim edilmiştir. Fabrikamız şu anda da Irak Demiryolları için 6 adet Pulman 4 adet Kuşetli, 2 adet Yataklı, 2 adet Yemekli olmak üzere 4 farklı tipte toplam 14 adet vagon üretimi yapmaktadır. Bu vagonların da 2014 yılı içerisinde teslimatının yapılması planlanmıştır.

Another factor that drives our company to grow is our desire to contribute to the national economy by bringing our country to the position of exporting and not exporting in the field of rail vehicles.
TÜVASAŞ's production policy; It has been determined to improve its existing knowledge, skills and experience in rail vehicle design, production and modernization, to increase its share in the national market and to take an active part in international markets.
What criteria do you consider when you decide to grow?
TÜVASAŞ aims to grow by increasing its product range, producing the vehicles that meet the needs of the railway sector and prioritize customer satisfaction, in accordance with the principles of profitability and efficiency, and the technologies of the age and international norms.
Our company realizes the design, production, repair and modernization of rail vehicles by taking into consideration the criteria determined in their growth targets.
What are your company's prospective goals? Will you have new strategies and investments?
TÜVASAŞ according to international standards, first to Turkey, then, is rapidly progressing towards the goal of making the entire world production of cars. We need the time
appropriately, we are committed to adapting to the world's parameters without advancing any technological development.
In addition to the production of wagons for railway transportation, TÜVASAŞ aims to modernize the existing wagons and to maximize passenger comfort. In 2014, we are aiming to add momentum to our production with the new wagon types that have adapted to the technological developments as well as with the projects suitable for our age.
We, as TÜVASAŞ, strive to become an active actor among the passenger car manufacturers in the world. We have taken steps in line with this aim with our agreements and we believe that we will make a significant progress with the agreements we have made and the projects we have prepared.
With our current technology, we can produce vehicle body from carbon steel material. In the coming period, we are planning to invest in technology which can be produced from aluminum material. In this way, we will be able to produce more lightweight wagons.
In addition, we have started to work on the advanced technology Electric Train Set (EMU), Diesel Train Set (DMU) to be produced within the scope of the National Train Project for the needs of TCDD. Train sets with a speed of 160 Km / h per hour will contribute to the development of the railway industry. In addition, this product will be a high standard product that can be marketed in the international market.
Which products do you need mainly in production? Do you follow a policy of giving priority to the domestic producer in the purchase of materials? What is the percentage of domestic / foreign to give?
A large part of the materials needed for the production of classic wagons are supplied from domestic and the parts that are not produced in the domestic market are obtained from abroad. The materials supplied domestically; we can classify as casting parts, forging parts and steel construction parts, electrical materials, wood materials, composite materials, rubber materials and aluminum materials. However, parts such as wheel set, brake system, automatic door system are supplied from abroad.
Parts of train sets such as bogie, train control system, engine, operator and automatic door system are imported from abroad.
70 of the products used in the production of conventional wagons, domestic 30, 40 foreign, 60 XNUMX of the train sets, and the domestic XNUMX is obtained from foreign companies.
Are you conducting training activities for the sector? Can you tell us about the importance of R & D in TÜVASAŞ?
TÜVASAŞ strengthened our technical staff by employing engineers in different branches to increase R & D activities. The project drawings, design and modernization of all the wagons we produce are carried out by the R & D Department. 2D and 3D design activities are carried out in the design of the wagons. The technical requirements and demands of the customer are taken into consideration in these activities. Test planning and test projects of the wagons coming to the test phase are also prepared by the R & D Department.
Is there a figure in 2023 for production?
TÜVASAŞ has so far produced a very significant amount of classic passenger cars (pulman, roller, bed, dining, conference, hall, compartment, generator). 2023 year in your foresight; In parallel with the railway infrastructure needed emerging in Turkey and will be focused on the production of train sets to be emitted future needs. Thanks to these studies, we aim to reach the infrastructure that will be able to produce vehicles that will be in YHT class until 2023.
One of the most important projects on the agenda of the Turkish rail industry is the National Train. What is the role of TÜVASAŞ in this project?

As TÜVASAŞ, we have ordered 124 new wagons for the coming years. Even if the factory works with full capacity, it is obvious that 3-4 will be working with an intensive work capacity. told. Ordering 124 wagons; not only our factory, but all Sakarya's intense work program, therefore, will have employment and economic vitality. Another good news is that; TÜVASAŞ as xnumx'inc with 220 million turnover last year took place in the first 375 industrial organizations in Turkey.
