Gulf countries railway project: The railway project that will connect the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries together is planned to be completed in 2018.
Speaking to the Saudi Official News Agency, Secretary General of Economic Affairs of the JCC General Secretary Abdullah el Şibli stated that the railway, which is approximately 2 thousand 117 kilometers long, will be completed in 15,4 with a cost of approximately 2018 billion.
Reminding that the project was decided at the 2009th KIK summit in 30, taking into account the “economic contribution”, Şibli noted that the Gulf Railway Administration was working with the relevant countries as soon as possible to complete the project within the framework of “universal standards”.
Expressing that the railway project will increase the investments and trade of GCC, Şibli stated that this would contribute to the transportation sector, provide employment and ensure the growth of the industry.
Stating that the railroad that will start from Kuwait will reach Bahrain through Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and then to Qatar, Shibli will reach Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirate (UAE) through Saudi Arabia, and then Muscat, the capital of Oman. he said.
