Speaking at the ceremony, Mümin Kahveci said, “We are celebrating the 100th anniversary of this tram, which has been in the service of Istanbul residents for 100 years and continues to provide this service on Istiklal Street. To commemorate this, we issued tickets that were in use at that time and a commemorative coin. We give passengers tickets to remember us and have a pleasant journey. Beyoğlu Beautification Association contributed. They organized events to contribute to the tradesmen and the region. We thank them. The nostalgic tram, with a wagon behind it, moved from Tunel to Taksim. Citizens who showed affection to the tram with wagons were gifted a purse containing an old tram ticket and souvenir money.
