Use rail systems every year to save the 53 bin tree

Use rail systems, save 53 thousand trees every year: Rail systems such as subway and suburban, which relieve urban traffic, protect the environment with energy efficiency and less carbon emission.
Yaşar University Head of the Department of Energy Systems Engineering Professor, who stated that every day, about 428 thousand passengers prefer rail transportation, tens of thousands of trees are saved every year. Dr. Arif Hepbaşlı drew attention to the article in the European Urban Specification "Slowly but surely an automobile kills a city". Hepbaşlı said, “Approximately 10 thousand passengers who use the subway or suburban system instead of cars every day in İzmir, knowingly or unknowingly, save 428 thousand trees, which are 5 times the trees in Kültürpark, every year. For a cleaner environment in İzmir, rail system investments should increase even more ”.
- TRAMWORKS 3 COVERED
Drawing attention to the daily carbon emissions of more than 1 million 20 thousand motor vehicles in İzmir traffic, Yaşar University Head of Energy Systems Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Arif Hepbaşlı stated that with the increase of rail systems, the city will breathe more comfortably. Underlining that citizens should be encouraged to public transportation for a clean city, Hepbaşlı said, “When we look at international standards, we see that the use of tram reduces carbon emissions by almost half compared to buses. For example, while the carbon emission per passenger per 1 kilometer is 42 grams for a tram, this rate rises to 69 grams for a bus and 183 for a car with a large engine volume. On the other hand, electric trams mean zero pollution. Trams are the best option for transporting people in densely populated areas, and are three times more energy efficient than buses. "When we turn to 100 percent renewable energies, it has zero emissions."
Emphasizing that the tram, which is an attractive transportation method with its environmentalist aspect, should be popularized in cities, Prof. Dr. Hepbaşlı said, “By using the tram instead of buses, we can avoid about 27 grams of carbon emission per person. If we assume that 10 thousand people use the tram instead of buses, we will prevent approximately 11 tons of carbon dioxide emission along a 3-kilometer road. With the implementation of the tram project planned in Izmir, it is predicted that 85 thousand passengers will be transported per day. In this case, we will save 12 thousand trees a year ”.
Reminding that a total of 428 thousand passengers are transported daily with the Izmir Metro and Izban, Hepbaşlı said, “If these 428 thousand people used a car with a large engine volume for transportation, we could only compensate for the excess carbon emission that occurs in one year by planting 53 thousand 290 trees. "If we consider that there are 9 trees in Kültürpark, we save 500 trees per year by using the rail system."
-EN ENVIRONMENTAL TRANSPORTATION TRAFFIC TRAMVAY-
1 emission of carbon dioxide per passenger;
- 42 grams for railroad
- 65 grams for Metro
- 69 grams for the bus
- 110 gram for a small model vehicle
133 grams for a middle model vehicle
183 grams for a large model vehicle.
FIGURES IN IZMIR
- There are approximately 500 municipal buses connected to ESHOT in İzmir.
-The İzmir Suburban System (İZBAN), which runs between -Aliağa Cumaovası line, carries an average of 220 thousand passengers per day. About 72 million kilowatt hours of electricity spent annually İZBAN, 2012 50 million 361 thousand passengers in the year served.
-Hatay-Evka 3 line between the Izmir Metro, which serves an average of 208 thousand passengers per day. In line 2013 he spent about 27 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
-GREEN AREA STATUS IN ISMIR AND EUROPE-
According to December 2013 figures of the Metropolitan Municipality in İzmir, there are 35 million square meters of green space including metropolitan districts. The green area per person is 12.68 square meters. In EU countries where calculations are made on active green areas, the amount of urban green space per person varies between 20-40 square meters on average. This ratio is 87,5 in Stockholm, 78 in England, 45.5 in Amsterdam, 45.3 in Rome and 35.7 in France.
-AVRUPA SEE HAZARD BEFORE QUARTER
According to Article 1992 of the 4 European Urban Specification: “Slowly but surely an automobile kills a city. In the 1s, we will choose either the city or the automobile; because the two will not be together ”he writes.
