Annual Capacity of Tcdd in Afyon 1 Million

TCDD's Annual Passenger Capacity in Afyon is 1 Million: TCDD 7th Regional Manager Enver Timurboğa said that the railway in Afyonkarahisar is an important means of transportation, and that it has the potential to carry 400 million passengers and 1 million tons of freight per year in close to 3 kilometers within the provincial borders.
Explaining that there are 398 kilometers of railway line in Afyonkarahisar, TCDD's 7th Regional Manager Timurboğa noted that Ali Çetinkaya Station operates 6 express and 21 trains per day, 3 million tons of freight can be filled annually throughout the region and the annual passenger capacity is 1 million.
Stating that the total length of the Ankara-Afyonkarahisar line is 287 kilometers in the Ankara-İzmir-Afyonkarahisar high-speed train project, Timurboğa said, “The operating speed of the high-speed train expected to be completed in 2017 is 250 kilometers per hour. Travel time will reduce the distance between Ankara and Afyonkarahisar to 1 hour and 20 minutes. After this project, the Ankara-Izmir high-speed train line will be built, and the Afyonkarahisar-Izmir high-speed train line will reduce the transportation between the two cities to 2 hours and 30 minutes ”.
Emphasizing that the section between Polatlı and Afyonkarahisar is 167 kilometers, Regional Manager Enver Timurboğa said, “According to the contract signed on 11 June 2012, this section will be completed in 1080 days. In this section, 8 tunnels with a total length of 11 thousand meters, 6 viaducts of 300 thousand 16 meters, 24 bridges, 116 under and overpasses and 195 culverts will be built. 65 million 500 thousand cubic meters of soil will be cultivated. "This section, with a tender price of 715 million TL, will be completed within the next 1 year."
Timurboğa said that the first stage works of Ankara-Polatlı-Afyonkarahisar were continuing in the construction of high-speed train and that the tender for the construction of the Afyonkarahisar-Eşme line in the second stage was under preparation.
