After the Governor's visit and information meeting, Minister Kılıç attended the tram ceremony, which was taken by the Metropolitan Municipality of Samsun, at the Gar Station, where he came on foot. In addition to the existing trams, the first of 1 trams purchased from China for 500 million 5 thousand euros was delivered last month and test runs were completed. A flamboyant ceremony was held on the 40-meter-long tram, ready for expeditions. Speaking at the ceremony, Youth and Sports Minister Akif Çağatay Kılıç said, “We are at the stage of commissioning the tram, which has been brought to our country with the world's largest cargo plane and will be in service as of today and which will ease public transportation. Hopefully 2014 will be instrumental for all of us for peace, health and beauty. Hopefully we will have a peaceful and happy year with our loved ones and our family. With these wishes, I will also cut the ribbon of this service, which will be beneficial for my country in Samsun, which is the first official visit of my ministry. ” said.
Samsun Metropolitan Mayor Yusuf Ziya Yilmaz, who wished that the new tram would be beneficial to Samsun, said: “We knew that we are carrying 16 thousand passengers a day with 60 trains operating in the SAMULAŞ system. Faced with a demand of over 60 thousand passengers, when our citizens convey the congestion to us, we have purchased a new system that aims to increase our total passenger capacity from China to 80 thousand per day. We will launch the first train of this system here today. We are opening this system as a new year gift to 2014. ”
After the speeches, the tram was put into service with the prayers that were read and the ribbon was cut.
Minister Kılıç and other protocol members attended the first time of the tram. Sitting in the seat of the Vatman, Metropolitan Mayor Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz brought the tram from the Gar Station to the Opera Station.
