Karşıyaka Tramway (T1) is a 14-station tram line with a length of 8,8 km (5,5 mi) built as part of the Izmir tram. The first station of the tram line, which was put into service on April 11, 2017, is Alaybey and the last station is Ataşehir. 17 vehicles serve on the tram line.

Track laying works on the T1 (Alaybey - Ataşehir) Tram Line, which is the first leg of the Izmir tram project, started in April 2015. The tram line, whose test drives started in January 2017, was put into service on April 11, 2017. Approximately 1 passengers are transported daily on the T41.000 line.

Within the scope of the second phase of the line, it is planned to extend the Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone, 11 km to Ata Sanayi and Çiğli Regional Research Hospital and approximately 1 km to the Mavişehir Train Station. The project, which will include fifteen stops, received approval from the Ministry of Transport in February 2020. The pre-qualification tender for the project was held in July 2020, and the tender for construction was held in November 2020. Nurol Construction won the tender, which offered approximately 414 million lira. The foundation of the line was laid on February 6, 2021.

The tram line starts from Alaybey as a single line with sayding Karşıyaka It continues as a double line after Iskele. The tram follows Cemal Gürsel Avenue, Hasan Ali Yücel Boulevard, 2018. Street, Şehit Cengiz Topel Street, Selçuk Yaşar Street and Cahar Dudayev Boulevard from the coast, and reaches Ataşehir near Mavişehir Train Station and ends here. Work is underway to extend the line from Ataşehir to Mavişehir Train Station and from Cevreyolu stop to Çiğli.
