Prime Minister Ankara-Istanbul YHT did a test drive on the line: Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ankara-Istanbul High Speed Train (YHT) test drive.
Erdogan attended the mass opening ceremony in Sakarya. Minister of Family and Social Policies Ayşenur Islam, Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı, Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs Veysel Eroğlu, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri Işık, and Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Lütfi Elvan accompanied Prime Minister Erdoğan's visit to Sakarya.
After the ceremony, Erdoğan got on the YHT named 'Piri Reis' which was used for testing purposes at Adapazarı Train Station and sat in the seat of the driver. Erdogan also received information from the authorities at the YHT, which came from Adapazarı to Kocaeli Köseköy. Prime Minister Erdoğan ended the test drive at Köseköy Station after the journey.
On the other hand, a police helicopter flew constantly for safety. While leaving the station, Erdoğan greeted the citizens from inside the bus with his wife Emine Erdoğan. Erdoğan departed from Cengiz Topel Airport to Istanbul by plane.
