Stating that the construction of the Çanakkale-Balıkesir Motorway, which also includes the Çanakkale Bosphorus Bridge, is considered in the medium term, Turhan said that until 2018, Ankara-İzmir, Ankara-Niğde, Ankara-Samsun, Aydın-Denizli Mersin-Taşucu and İzmir-Çandarlı highway He explained that they were planning to finish their projects. Turhan stated that the tenders of the BOT projects that will reach 2023 should be made by 2015 at the latest.

Thrace traffic coming from Greece, Bulgaria and Romania and facing the Aegean Region and Anatolia will be transferred to İzmir and Aegean Region via Çanakkale Bridge without entering Istanbul. Çanakkale Bridge, which will significantly reduce the burden of transit traffic from Thrace to Anatolia, will also contribute to the solution of Istanbul's traffic problem. Tekirdağ-Kınalı-Çanakkale-Balıkesir Highway, where Çanakkale Bridge will also be located, will be connected to Gebze-İzmir Highway from the west of Balıkesir. Between Eceabat and Çanakkale, where the bridge is provided by ferry, it will also eliminate the disruptions in transportation, especially in winter, due to lodos.
