New tender for Başkentray: A re-auction is scheduled for the Başkentray Project in December.
The tender for the Başkentray Project, which was carried out last year by the General Directorate of Turkish State Railways (TCDD) but was canceled by the Public Procurement Authority (GCC) on the 15 May, is scheduled to be re-launched in December.

In its project, the JCC canceled the tender on May 15.

After the decision of the JCC was reached, the TCDD Board of Directors started to prepare for the tender. TCDD plans to re-tender for the Başkentray Project in December for the realization of the project.
The tender process

The Başkentray Project tender, which includes the reconstruction of the Sincan-Ankara-Kayaş train lines, was held on April 25 last year, and 17 domestic and foreign companies and business partnerships submitted bids. The lowest bid in the tender was Gülermak-Kolin business partnership with 186 million 235 thousand 935 euros. After the tender, the court decided for a stay of execution upon the application of the Austrian company Porr Bau GmbH. Thereupon, the JCC decided to exclude the proposal of the Gülermak-Kolin business partnership. The Başkentray tender commission also excluded the Gülermak-Kolin business partnership, following the decision of the GCC. TCDD Board of Directors approved the decision to award the tender to the Austrian firm Porr Bau GmbH. Upon the objection of the Comsa-Açilim-Seza business partnership, which bid for the tender, the Baskentray tender was canceled by the KİK on May 15th.

60 million passengers will be transported annually

The Ankara-based Başkentray Project, which will make a great contribution to Ankara's urban passenger transportation, incorporates many innovations. With the Başkentray Project planned to be transported annually 36 million passengers, Ankara-Istanbul, Ankara-Konya and Ankara-Sivas high-speed train projects will be provided in Ankara.

High speed train travel time between Ankara-Sincan and 19 minutes in the existing corridor will be reduced to 7 minutes with the completion of Başkentray Project. Thus, the travel time between Ankara and Eskişehir will decrease to 12 hour.
