Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO) President Nurettin Özdebir said, “We are now in the railway market. These vehicles will be produced in Turkey and we want to use these manufactured goods, "he said.
At the symposium on "Railway Technologies", hosted by the Anatolian Rail Transport Systems Cluster (ARUS), at Swiss Hotel, German railway industrialists came together with local manufacturers to develop cooperation in rail technology and make joint investments.
Speaking at the event, ASO President Nurettin Özdebir drew attention to the timing of the symposium and said, “It is very important that this symposium takes place immediately after Marmaray, which connects 2 continents under the sea and opened on 29 October. The railway, which will connect China and Germany, started to pass under the Bosphorus. I believe that new collaborations will open up in this symposium. ”
Özdebir, noting that Turkey in the last 10 years significant growth in all areas, on the basis of this growth was stressed that political stability and infrastructure work.
Reminding that the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed ​​Line will start operating in the coming months, Özdebir said, “These works are not only the development of freight and passenger transportation. It is the re-emergence of the railway transportation that we have neglected for almost 80 years and its importance is being realized ”.
Expressing that Ankara has become the center of railway transportation, Özdebir said, however, Ankara industry has started to give importance to the railway, which has not been concentrated until today.
Özdebir pointed out that despite the recent introduction of the Ankara industry to the railway vehicles, Özpınar has taken over the leadership from Adapazarı and Eskişehir, which are important centers in this field, “We are now in the railway market. These vehicles will be produced in Turkey and we want to use these manufactured goods, "he said.
Domestic rail transportation systems
ARUS Chairman Ziya Burhanettin Güvenç, stated that Turkey's major trading ilişkilier with Germany, the railways also said they wanted to make joint efforts with Germany.
Güvenç emphasized that ARUS aims to produce domestic rail transportation systems with everything from design to production and to make the local brand established as a permanent world brand.
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone President Orhan Aydın also stated that it is necessary to work with Germany in the rail sector, saying, “We need to produce the right strategies and the right action plans. In this regard, a plan should be made for all of us to win. ”
Andreas Becker, Vice President of the German Railway Manufacturers Association, expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two countries will increase through bilateral meetings within the scope of the event.
Becker, noting that Turkey is too important to give the railway the last 10 years, "the two continents on October 29, we watched the opening of the Marmaray connects to each other in a period of 4 minutes, and that was quite impressed," he said.
At the event, the industrialists of the two countries will discuss sectoral developments and conduct bilateral business negotiations. The guest industrialists will share their views on business negotiations, cooperation in railway technology and joint investments.
