Greece Does Not Warm Up Opening the Eskiköy Border Gate: Customs and Trade Minister Hayati Yazıcı made a statement about the opening of the Eskiköy border gate in the town of Uzunköprü in Edirne.
Yazıcı stated that the Eskiköy border gate, which is the gate that crosses from Uzunköprü to Greece by rail, is not considered to be opened by Greece. The opening of the Eskiköy border gate will benefit our region. However, our neighbor Greece does not welcome the opening of the Eskiköy border gate. As the Ministry of Trade and Customs, we have completed all our preparations. But the neighboring country must show the same approach to open a border crossing. Negotiations were held with our neighbor Greece. We are not able to get results. We are trying to convince Greece. ”
