Üsküdar-sancaktepe Metro | Ümraniye Çarşı and Bulgurlu merged: Tunnels from Ümraniye Çarşı to Bulgurlu were united in the Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe subway, where the tunnel excavation and station works are ongoing.
According to the statement made by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the rail system works that offer safe and comfortable travel continue without slowing down.
Tunnel excavation and station works are continuing in Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe subway which is the second metro line of the Anatolian side. In this context, the 1 kilometer tunnel between the Ümraniye Power Station and Bulgurlu Station was combined.
Turgay Gökdemir, the Anatolian Side Rail System Manager and the technical team followed the tunnel excavation work under the 30 meter.
Gökdemir, who expressed his views in the statement, previously said that the combination of Çarşı and Santral stations, said:
“With the last excavation, the part of the tunnels from Ümraniye Bazaar to Bulgurlu has been united. Our works continue on a 16-hour basis, close to all 24 stations on the line from Üsküdar to Sancaktepe. Approximately 40 kilometers of tunnel excavation work has been completed to a large extent. Within the scope of the works where TBM machine is used from 4 different points, our tunnel construction works continue with NATM (New Australian Tunneling Method). Concrete coating works of platform tunnels at the stations are also continuing rapidly.
The line is aimed to be put into service in 2015
The Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe metro is planned to be put into service in 2015 in line with the instructions of the Metropolitan Mayor Kadir Topbaş.
Once the project is completed, a passenger who takes the metro from Sancaktepe will be able to reach Ümraniye in 12,5 minutes, Üsküdar in 24 minutes, Yenikapı in 36 minutes, Taksim in 44 minutes, Hacıosman in 68 minutes, and Atatürk Airport in 71 minutes. . The 16-kilometer metro line that will connect Üsküdar, Çekmeköy, Sancaktepe districts with 20 stations will be extended to the Sabiha Gökçen Airport via Taşdelen and Sultanbeyli.
