In this facility, we will make all the freight wagons coming to our company for maintenance and repair, without the human factor, with the help of robots and then repair and maintenance.
An investment that needs to be emphasized is the Robotics Boji Welding Unit, which is used in the production line of our company and used in the production line for 1,5 years. In this plant, we meet the needs of our company and the private sector by making serial production of the Y25 bogie, which is the most common bogie used in Europe by a method similar to the automotive industry, with the help of robots. While these and similar new investments further strengthen our infrastructure, we are one of the most well-equipped companies in our region with modern and technological benches such as bogie blasting, wagon sandblasting and painting plants, numerous CNC machines, Horizontal Machining Centers located in other factories within our company.
Can we say that domestic products are the priority when making material preference in TÜDEMSAŞ projects?
We produce and repair all kinds of materials such as sheet metal, angle iron, NPU which are used in the wagons. In order to direct our suppliers who supply these materials to local products, we ask for the Domestic Goods Certificate in our tenders. While we produce some of the spare parts in the form of semi-finished or finished products, we meet some of them in the domestic market in order to form the railway industry in our country and to grow and develop.
Which products do you need more?
We use domestic material in the percentage of 85 in the wagons we produce. These materials; cast parts, forged parts and steel construction parts. In addition, many parts that require heat treatment are produced from the domestic market. However, the wheel system, braking system (such as valves, regulators) and pipe fittings, such as the other parts of the car's 15'i are available from abroad. The fact that these products are not produced in our country leads us abroad.
In particular, we believe that the wheel sets can be produced by iron and steel factories such as Kardemir, which is one of the big industrial companies in our country. While the pipe fittings known as Olab or Vebeo, which we supply from abroad, are possible to be produced domestically, the fact that there are no domestic companies engaged in this issue makes us sad.
Do you think our companies operating in the railway sector are enough to carry the sector up?
In our country, the neglected and even ignored railways in our country have changed with the year 2003. Within the framework of the changing understanding, railways have become a state policy, as in the first years of the Republic, and major projects have begun to be made and serious investments have been made.
Within the framework of political and economic developments in the world in recent years, new transportation corridors, which include our country, are formed between the countries. A number of legal arrangements and technical infrastructure are being prepared in order to evaluate this advantage and to fully comply with Europe. With the completion of these, Turkish companies will have a more effective role in transportation and a very serious freight wagon will be needed in the market. Companies that want to take their places in this new market need to prepare in the field of transportation or for the production of rail vehicles and sub-components. The starters of these preparations will receive significant shares from the transportation pastry or the rail industry. With the new private sector organizations that will arise, the share of private sector in the production and maintenance of the towed and towed railway vehicles will increase with each passing day. This is already one of our country's 2023 targets. It is necessary to analyze the railway sector, which is one of the priorities of our country, which is constantly developing and growing, by the local companies and the objectives of the 2023 which have been introduced by TCDD in detail.
What are the objectives of the Turkish railway industry, what will happen in the future?
Railways sector is given great importance in developed countries. Due to environmental impacts and economic reasons, the railway has been identified as a priority sector in the studies which aim to establish a balanced structure by expanding the transportation from the road to other transportation types.
This understanding began to dominate in our country in the last decade. We can understand this by the huge investments made by High Speed ​​Train (YHT) Lines, Marmaray and by the targets set by TCDD for the 2023 year. Among these objectives; 10 thousand kilometers new YHT line and 4 thousand kilometers to build a new conventional line, to develop the railway-pulling vehicle fleet, to increase the share of private sector in the production and maintenance of towing and towing vehicles, to increase the share of private sector in the railway sector to 50, organized to provide direct connection to industrial areas and all major production centers, to realize the share of railways in transportation, to 10 in passenger transportation and to 15 in freight transportation is very important for the railway industry in our country. If you look at TÜDEMSAŞ, can you tell us about your projects and future targets for 2013 year?
In terms of freight wagons, TÜDEMSAŞ, the largest and most well-equipped company in the sector, increased the production and repair program of TCDD for 2013 by 20 by XNUMX compared to the previous year. In this context, our production and repair works continue at full speed.
TS EN ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System, TS 18001: 2008 OHSAS Occupational Health and Safety Management System, TS EN ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management System and TS EN 16001 Energy Management System have the required certifications. Despite the fact that we produce wagons in UIC standards, we also carry out the Certification Works Technical Specifications (TSI) which will be needed in order to operate the newly produced wagons in the European Union countries without any problem. We are aiming to complete this process that we started for Sgss type Container Carriage wagon by starting for other wagons of different types. Besides, we aim to get the 15085-2 Welding Quality Certificate that we have bought for bogie for all types of wagons we produce. In addition, the European Union has started the preparations of Maintenance Supply Function Certificate within the scope of the ECM Maintenance Management System which will be requested from the public and private sector institutions for the maintenance, repair and revision of freight wagons.
In parallel with the mobilization in the railway transportation in our country, we are conducting various studies to meet the needs of the private sector, to make more production in the domestic market and to export to other countries by creating alternative markets and to investigate different business associations. In this sense, an agreement was signed with REYSAŞ Lojistik, one of the leading companies in the transportation sector, with the company 60 in the past months and the 15 of these wagons are currently being delivered. The rest will be delivered in October. In addition, with the General Directorate of Turkish State Railways (TCDD) for the year 2014, an agreement has been made for the production of one thousand different types of wagons.
The market research and the European-South and East Asian transport corridors in the world in terms of rail transport and the demand for rail freight vehicles, the next 5-10 will be developed in the coming years with China and India. Considering the low standards of the vehicles drawn, we give priority to the production of new and technological wagons in line with the changing and developing needs of the sector.
We are trying to turn our region into a center in the production of freight wagons thanks to the railway industry and subcontractors, which are starting to develop in our region and will develop over time.
Our main target is to develop the railway industry in our country, to create new employment areas for our people in our region and to provide new employment opportunities in the main target of all our works and all strategies that we believe contribute to the development and growth of the railway sector.
