The First Containers Without Strapping

Within the scope of the Ball Project, the First Containers Departed from Bandırlar: Mobility started at Bandırma Port after the launch of Büyük Anadolu Logistics Organization (BALO).

Within the scope of the BALO Project, the containers, which were brought to Bandırma by train from different provinces of Anatolia, containing industrial products, automotive spare parts, white goods and ceramics, were loaded on the ship waiting in the port and sent to Tekirdağ. The cargoes that will reach Tekirdağ within 6 hours from Bandırma will be transported from Kapıkule to Munich and Cologne cities of Germany within 5 days in cooperation with the Austrian Railways.

Bandırma Commodity Exchange Chairman and BALO Board Member Halit Sezgin, who was present during the first loading, stated that this project was started with a ceremony held in Manisa, and said that he believes the practice will make a great contribution to the Turkish economy and increase the competition among exporters.

"I believe that this project will also contribute to the export target of $ 100 million in 2023, the 500th anniversary of the Republic," said Sezgin.

BALO Europe Operation Manager Erkan Aksoy said that they were happy to start the first container train from Bandirma. With this project, exporters will save both time and pay less freight fee, he added.
