Isparta and Burdur miss the high-speed train

Isparta and Burdur miss the high-speed train: ATSO Chairman Budak warned Isparta and Burdur because of the route dispute and little support for the signature campaign, "If it goes like this, the Isparta-Burdur train will miss, Konya will be the priority."

Approximately 2016 thousand signatures have been reached with the works carried out throughout the province for the 'Expo 80 come to Antalya by high speed train' signature campaign initiated by the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The campaign, in which the signatures were collected both online and one-on-one, was given great support from the districts besides Antalya city center. The fact that the support of Isparta and Burdur, among the routes where the train will pass, is almost nonexistent, has brought the priority to be given to the route of the train, which has two projects.

ATSO President Çetin Osman Budak, explaining his meeting with Transport, Communication and Maritime Minister Binali Yıldırım regarding the high-speed train project, said, “The government has a project on two separate routes to Antalya. One of them is Isparta, Burdur and Antalya from Afyonkarahisar, and the other is Antalya via Manavgat from Konya. "One of these two projects is in the government's 2023 vision, the second is in the 2035 vision."

Stating that the Minister Yıldırım responded to the question of which one will be given priority in Antalya, "Which one you want first" Budak said, "In this case, the demand of the Antalya public opinion is important."

Stating that 1 million signatures were called to draw attention to the importance of the issue in the signature campaign, Budak stated that more than 80 thousand signatures have been collected so far, and when 100 thousand signatures are reached, these signatures will be submitted to the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Transport together with Antalya's executives and NGOs.

Pointing out that Antalya city center and Manavgat have given serious support to the signature campaign, Budak said that Isparta and Burdur have almost no support. Budak noted that the project, which will be given priority from the two projects, will be implemented according to the public demand, at this point, the ongoing route dispute between Isparta and Burdur and the lack of support for the organized campaign may cause the priority to be given to the Konya-Antalya line in the project.
