EIA Process Started in High Speed Train Project: The EIA Report prepared by the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications regarding the "Sincan-Çayırhan-Istanbul Railway Ankara Kocaeli Section" project planned to be built within the borders of Ankara, Bolu, Sakarya and Kocaeli The EIA process was initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Within the scope of the process, those who want to examine the Environmental Impact Assessment Report will be able to review the report at the Ministry Headquarters or Sakarya Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization as of the date of the announcement, and convey their opinions about the project to the Ministry and the Governorship within the timing schedule. PUBLIC MEETINGS Regarding the "Sincan-Çayırhan-İstanbul Railway Ankara Kocaeli Section" Project, the contractor firm had taken the views of the town by holding public meetings in the provinces where the line would pass during the EIA Report preparation process. At the meeting held in our city on February 20, it was stated that one of the 2 stations in the High Speed Train Project, which will reduce the distance between Ankara and Istanbul to one and a half hours, will be in Sakarya Center, north of Karakamış. The High Speed Train will pass 15 kilometers north of Sapanca Lake and 4 kilometers south of the natural gas cycle power plant. The project was previously changed as the line entered the area of the Ballıkaya Dam. Therefore, many art structures will be built on the high-speed train line that will pass through agricultural lands, forests and pastures before entering the settlements. Along the line, 22 bridges and viaducts, 50 tunnels and 403 underpasses and overpasses will be built. The project is expected to start in at least 4-5 years.
