23 million dollars investment in Bandırma Port: The company, which won the Bandırma Port tender opened in 2008 by the Privatization Administration with 175 million 500 thousand dollars, has invested 23 million dollars in the last two years in the port, which is of great importance in the works aimed at connecting the Anatolian industry to Europe by train.
According to the tender, the General Manager of the port, which will be operated by a company for 36 years, Özgür Durmaç Çalış said that Büyük Anadolu Lojistik Organizasyonlar A.Ş., which was established with 93 partners with the participation of TOBB and affiliated chambers and exchanges. (BALO), within the framework of the works aimed at connecting Anatolian industry to Europe by train, the cargo that will arrive at Bandırma Port by block train will be sent to Tekirdağ by ship and from there to Europe by train.
Stating that the port, which has the only railway connection in the South Marmara region, has a great logistic importance in this respect, Durmaç Çalış said, “The port has a logistical superiority with the national railway line extending to the docks. Bandırma Port, which is the market leader in the bulk cargo group, continues to increase its capacity as a result of its investments ”.
As a result of the investments in the existing infrastructure and superstructure, the port has 220 thousand TEU / year container, 8 million tons / year bulk and general cargo, 500 thousand vehicles / year capacity. 2 thousand TEU / year container to the end of phase investments, 350 noted that it is planned to reach 11 thousand vehicles / year capacity with a million tons / year bulk and general cargo.
Stating that they have started to strengthen their container operations, Durmaçalış went on to say:
“Approximately 23 million dollars of construction investment has been made in the port in the last two years. We have an investment forecast of $ 15 million for the liquid cargo terminal in the next three years. We have a capacity of 500 thousand vehicles / year in RO-RO traffic. We aim to make ropax type ships that can carry automobiles, trucks and passengers in RO-RO traffic with a length of 38 meters, can dock at the port by filling 220 thousand square meters of sea at the RO-RO terminal.
In order to minimize the problems caused by the port traffic and slow down in the operational speed, Durmaçalış stated that the main gate of the port would be double entry and exit and that these investments would find 30 million dollars.
Stating that they have an important role in the BALO project, Durmaç Çalış said that they will do their part in the opening of Anatolian industry to Europe as one of the most important pillars of the bridge.
