The need to reshape the transportation among the most important cities of our country such as Ankara and İzmir emerged. In line with this requirement, Ankara İzmir YHT Project came to the agenda.
This project consists of a new railway line starting from Yenice Village at 22 km of Ankara Konya High Speed Line and a route that envisages the improvement of the existing line that reaches Uşak and Manisa province centers from Afyon to Menemen.
If this project is put into practice, it is planned to travel between Ankara and Izmir in 1 hours and 20 minutes, with 2 hour 30 minutes between Ankara and Afyon and 3 hours 50 minutes between Afyon and İzmir.

SPEED RAILWAY HISTORY OF TURKEY
