The transfer ordeal in İZBAN ends on Sunday. Hilal Transfer Station, which is one of the most important steps of the Great Transportation Plan in İZMİR, will intersect İZBAN and İzmir Metro for the second time, after Halkapınar, as of Sunday, August 4th.

Turkey's largest urban rail mass transit system izban after the Halkapınar Izmir Hilal, the second intersection with Metro Transfer Station will be opened on Sunday August 4. The train journey time between Şirinyer and Konak will be reduced to approximately 9 minutes, thanks to the station, which will significantly facilitate İZBAN passengers coming from the direction of Cumaovası using the İzmir Metro to Konak direction. Passengers coming from İzmir Metro and Konak will also have a very important time advantage in transportation to the south by transferring at Hilal.

With the commissioning of the Hilal Transfer Station, the passengers coming from the direction of Cumaovası will transfer to Hilal without going to Alsancak and Halkapınar, while providing an important time for the passengers and reducing the density in Halkapınar. Thanks to its critical location, Hilal Transfer Station will make it easier for passengers to reach İzmir Fair, Kahramanlar, Military Service Branch, Hilal District and Yenişehir on foot.
İZBAN General Manager Sabahattin Eriş and İzmir Metro General Manager Sönmez Alev stated that the station is an important milestone in İzmir's rail transit system, while underlining that the station is an important milestone in İzmir's rail transport system.

Reminding that the journey between Şirinyer-Konak lasted about 30 minutes before, İZBAN General Manager Sabahattin Eriş said, “Thanks to Hilal Transfer Station, our passengers will be able to transfer directly to Izmir Metro without losing time to Alsancak and Halkapınar.” Sönmez Alev, Izmir Metro General Manager and IZBAN Deputy General Manager, emphasized that a new step was taken every day regarding the Great Transport Plan in Izmir, “We make public transportation in Izmir an important and low-awareness action that is as important as breathing. . Hilal Transfer Station is perhaps one of the most important steps of this goal. ”

ALSANCAK OPENING

Alsancak Station will be put into service simultaneously with Hilal Transfer Station. Alsancak Station, one of the most heavily used stations of İZBAN, was closed to operation on 11 November 2012 due to the construction work of Hilal Transfer Station and the Kahramanlar-Akıncılar highway underpass constructed by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. While all works were completed in the past period, Alsancak Station was also significantly renewed.

SECOND REVISION IN HALKAPINAR

The second major revision will start in Halkapınar right after the Hilal Transfer Station started its operation. In the first place, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which makes it easier for passengers to transfer the Izmir Metro and bus, by increasing the width of the south bridge from 1.80 meters to 7 meters, will also start to expand the existing transfer bridge in the south. The existing bridge with a width of 2.60 meters will be expanded up to 6 meters, and will be turned into a giant bridge with 6 covered and XNUMX escalators. Thus, a much faster and more efficient transfer will be provided between İZBAN and İzmir Metro in Halkapınar.

NEW SETS IS COMING

İZBAN's Gulf Dolphin train sets, which are under construction in South Korea, will start to be in Izmir as of the first quarter of 2014. With the addition of 40 train sets to the fleet, İZBAN will carry passenger transportation with 83 sets. Thanks to the arrival of 40 sets and the plans to be made, the frequency of trips will be reduced to every 5 minutes in İZBAN, thus one of the steps of the Great Transportation Plan in Izmir will be taken.

TORBALI CONTINUES

In Torbalı, where works for the extension of the 80-kilometer İZBAN line began, the station, on the one hand, and the line and signalization works are continuing. While Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is making highway crossings with 6 stations in Develi, Tekeli, Pancar, Kuşçuburun, Torbalı and Tepeköy, TCDD is also working on the renewal of the line in this region and the regulation of the signaling system. With the introduction of the Torbalı line, İZBAN will increase to 110 kilometers in the first place. Immediately afterwards, the button will be pressed for the extension of the line in the north direction. The line length will go up to 145 kilometers with Selçuk and 185 kilometers with Bergama. With the introduction of the Manisa line, İZBAN will reach a line length of 210 kilometers.
