Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has germinated the rail system line with an application that is rare in the world, which is not found in Turkey, and with this application, it has added a green area the size of 15 football fields to the city for now. By the end of the year, this amount will reach the size of 26 football fields.
The rail system, which Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality built by realizing a rail system that is rare not only in Turkey but also in the world, has already started to be called YEŞİLRAY'. Currently extending to 17,5 kilometers; A green area was created along the rail system line, which will reach 35 kilometers by the end of the year.
THE MOST SUITABLE RAIL SYSTEM AWARD FROM UITP
Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Head Arif Emecen said that they created a green area of 17,5 thousand 107 m² along the existing 600 kilometer rail system line. Emphasizing that they took the green area into account during the project phase and made the rail system infrastructure accordingly, Arif Emecen said, with 2 new lines to be added to the existing line by the end of this year; He noted that the length of the line will increase to 35 kilometers and the amount of green space will increase to 185 thousand square meters. Emecen, Head of Transportation Department, reminded that due to this environmentally sensitive feature of Kayseri, they received the Most Environmentally Suitable Rail System award from the International Union of Public Transport (UITP).
185 THOUSAND WIRELESS GREEN AREA
Kayseri, with the project implemented in the rail system of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, 107 thousand 600 square meter has gained additional green space. Considering that the average football field is 7 thousand square meters, the green area in the rail system line corresponds to the 15 football field. By the end of the year, the 16 2 new line will be built and the 78 thousand square meter green area will be revealed. Thus, the 185 will be equivalent to the 26 football field, which will reach a thousand square meters.
ALL IMPLEMENTATIONS OF TECHNOLOGY ARE USED FOR GREEN PASSION
The ability to germinate in the rail system line requires a series of challenging operations from the groundbreaking stage. Firstly; The irrigation, canal and drainage infrastructure necessary for the growth of lawns are being prepared. In order to prevent damaging the system, irrigation is applied on the carrier reinforced concrete plate. In addition, perforated drainage pipes are laid and connections are made to drain manholes and after the perlite / bims filling, the soil is laid and the germination process is completed. In order to prevent corrosion of the metal materials used, every measure is considered from the very beginning. The passion of the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality to the green provides the opportunity to cover the tens of thousands of square meters of land allocated for transportation by green grass.
