Burdur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BUTSO) Chairman Yusuf Keyik gave information about the latest situation on the High Speed ​​Train that will connect Istanbul to Antalya. Keyik; “The High Speed ​​Train, which entered the agenda of the Western Mediterranean Region in 2010, is in various rumors in the public, but as Oda, we follow the developments. We sometimes have hesitations about where the line will pass and where the station will be, which is lost by the Isparta-Burdur conflicts. As it is known, we, as BUTSO, participated in the signature campaign initiated by Çetin Osman Budak, President of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO), due to these hesitations about the realization of the Istanbul-Antalya High Speed ​​Train line to 2023. We established a petition stand in Cumhuriyet Square and collected signatures for a long time. I hope that a result will be achieved before the Ministry of Transport and we will reach the Fast Train by 2023 at the latest ”.
Emphasizing that the Freight Train, which will connect the export ports in addition to the High Speed ​​Train, is also important for the export of the region, Chamber President Yusuf Keyik gave the following information about the working process in his statement: "In 2010" 1. Ministry of Transportation Consultant Prof. Dr. Mustafa Karaşahin stated that the works are being carried out within the General Directorate of Railways, Ports and Airports Construction (DLH) to connect Antalya to the existing train network.
According to the information given by Mustafa Karaşahin; In the project under DLH, it was announced that the high-speed train line between Ankara and Eskişehir will be used, and it will be separated from Eskişehir to Afyon with a switch. Karaşahin also said: “It will be a completely new line. A connection will be provided from Afyon to Antalya via Burdur. Another link will be made from Dinar. An important project in terms of a railway connection to the Mediterranean; It is planned to be completed in 2011. Thus, our two ports will be connected by rail in the Mediterranean ”. However, it is obvious that the work is slow.

When the High Speed ​​Train takes place, Antalya will be connected to the high-speed train line via Konya and Eskişehir, as well as to Izmir, Ankara, Istanbul and to the east by high-speed trains. With the Freight Train, marble exports from Burdur will double and provide great economic benefits to Burdur, Isparta and Antalya. Our target is until 2023, we do not expect any obstacles in the realization of the project.
