Eurasia Tunnel Project: Under the Bosphorus, the train is in the car, and the Eurasia Tunnel Project, which will allow vehicles to pass under the Marmara Sea, continues at full speed while approaching the end in Marmara.
After Marmaray, where Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made his test drive, the attention has now been turned into a 'tube transition' for motor vehicles. Marmaray, which will be opened on October 29, connects the two sides with a railroad under water, while the Eurasia Tunnel, which is planned to be opened in late 2015, will lower the motor vehicles deep into the Bosphorus. Thanks to the Eurasia Tunnel, whose project name is 'Bosphorus Highway Tube Crossing', the journey between Zeytinburnu and Göztepe, which takes more than 100 minutes, will be reduced to only 15 minutes. Thanks to the project where 120 thousand vehicles will pass per day, the city traffic will be relieved significantly with the Bosphorus bridges. The Eurasia Tunnel, which was laid in 2011 by the Joint Venture Group consisting of South Korean SK and Türk Yapı Merkezi companies, will cost approximately 1.3 billion liras. The 15 km project, currently undergoing bored piling, will start in Kazlıçeşme on the European side. From here to the shore of Cankurtaran, a private road with 5.4 lanes with a length of 8 kilometers will be built along Kennedy Avenue. Roads in the historical peninsula will be rearranged. The lights will be removed, 'wrecks' will be made, transportation will become more functional. The line, which will descend from the lifeguard, will go over the ground at Göztepe Junction on the Anatolian side, passing the Bosphorus under the water. Tunnel traffic will be limited to cars and minibuses. Those who want to go to the historical peninsula will be able to go to Eminönü or other places after the tunnel in Cankurtaran. The tube transition for rubber wheeled vehicles will have more features than the tube transition within the scope of the Marmaray Project, which will only be used by trains. While only 1.4 km of Marmaray passes under the Bosphorus, 3.3 km of the new tube pass will be under the sea. ZEYTİNBURNU-GÖZTEPE 15 MINUTES
The roads between Kazlıçeşme and Cankurtaran will be expanded and renewed as part of the 'Bosphorus Highway Tube Crossing' Project, which will start from Zeytinburnu on the European side. The vehicles following this route will go underground from Cankurtaran and pass the Bosphorus under water and reach Göztepe. The journey, which normally takes 100 minutes, will decrease to 15 minutes.
