After Marmaray, Istanbul 2. tube passage is coming

After the Marmaray, the second tube passage comes to Istanbul: The two sides of the Bosphorus will once again be connected with the world's 2th largest tunnel.
The world's 6th largest tunnel is being built in Istanbul. The giant mole that will dig the tunnel that connects the two ends of the Bosphorus at a depth of 106 meters has been completed. With the project, the distance between Kazlıçeşme and Göztepe will be reduced to 15 minutes.

According to the report of Hasan Ay from the calendar newspaper, huge projects are being carried out one after another to solve the traffic in Istanbul. Travel time between Kazlıçeşme and Göztepe with the world's 6th largest tunnel built in Istanbul will be reduced from 100 minutes to 15 minutes. The Bosphorus highway tunnel, which will connect the Asian and European continents under the sea, gained speed. Under the responsibility of the Turkish-Korean Joint Venture ATAŞ with the build-operate-transfer model, an important step has been achieved in the 106-kilometer Eurasia Tunnel Project, which will be built 14.6 meters below the Bosphorus for cars. The construction of the tunnel boring machine, which will dig a 2-storey tunnel in the Bosphorus and has a height of 13.7 meters and equal to a 4-storey building, has been completed.

YILDIRIM BAYEZİD KAZACAK

The machine was named after the fourth Ottoman sultan, Yıldırım Bayezid, who made history with his rapid movement on the battlefields. The last tests of the machine were also carried out at the plant of the manufacturer Herrenknecht company in Schwanau, Germany. The giant machine, which will then be dismantled and transported to Istanbul, will be brought together here. The tunnel boring machine has been specially designed for the Istanbul Strait ground conditions and pressure environment. The length of the machine, which weighs 500 tons, is 130 meters. The machine, including supporting equipment, cost $ 150 million. The machine is scheduled to start excavation in November. For the giant machine, a 40-meter deep and 150-meter-long pit is being prepared on the edge of Haydarpaşa Port. The giant mole, which will excavate more than 10 meters a day, is expected to complete the excavation work in 1.5 years.

TRANSFER FEE 4 DOLAR + KDV

The total cost of the Eurasia Tunnel Project, which started in 2011, is 1 billion 250 million dollars. Within the scope of the project, the coastal road between Cankurtaran and Kazlıçeşme will be increased to 8 lanes. It is predicted that 2015 thousand vehicles will pass through the tunnel, which is planned to be opened in the middle of 100. In the project, there will be box offices on both sides and the toll will be $ 2 + VAT.
