According to the statement made by the Minister, the construction of the new railway for YHT on the 56-kilometer route between Gebze and Köseköy will be completely finished on September 30. There will be trial flights for a month and the high-speed train will start the service between Istanbul and Ankara on 29 October, that is, on the date requested by the Prime Minister.
This news is very important. But more importantly, Minister Yıldırım has officially announced that commuter trains on the Istanbul-Adapazarı line will also operate on the same route on the same date. Moreover, suburban trains will be much more luxurious, comfortable and faster than before.
I do not guess that there will be deviations in the dates announced at this far end. A very important alternative will soon be created for those who want to travel intercity from Izmit.
