In a statement made by the French National Railway Company (SNCF), it was stated that the speed of the first train passing through the accident site was much lower than predicted. As a result of the derailment of the Paris-Limoges train at Brétigny-sur-Orge Station on Friday, 4 wagons were knocked down, 4 people, 2 of whom were waiting on the platform and 6 of them train passengers, died. In the accident, 16 people were injured, 65 of whom are still being treated in hospitals.
