CHP 3. Going to the Council of State for cancellation of the airport
CHP, Istanbul 3. The airport will apply to the Council of State for the cancellation of the project.
CHP Istanbul Deputy Aykut Erdoğdu said that they decided to apply to the Council of State for the cancellation and suspension of the new airport project to be built in Istanbul.
Erdoğdu, at the press conference held in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, stated that the environmental impacts of the project are irreversible and argued that there were many unlawfulnesses during the tender phase.
"AGAINST COMPETITION LAW"
Erdoğdu stated that 6,178 hectares of the project area is forest, and that the damage to the forest area and its allocation out of purpose is unconstitutional and stated that the project is also against the Law of Competition.
Noting that they prepared the petition for the cancellation of the project and will submit it to the Council of State today, Erdoğdu said, “Not according to the instructions of any power of the Council of State; "We expect it to make a decision in accordance with the law."
