Minister Yıldırım, Bindi Tunnel Opened to Construction Equipment

Binali Yıldırım, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, started the first drilling process in Belkahve tunnels in Izmir, using a construction machine.
Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali Yıldırım, received information from company managers at the Belkahve Worksite of the Izmir-Istanbul Highway after attending the Izmir Provincial Advisory Council meeting of his party. Providing information about the cost of the highway, Yıldırım said that the highway will cost 20 billion liras, the project includes bridges and viaducts, the length of the bridge is 4 thousand 540 meters, it will be a four-way four-way eight-lane road, and the foundation of the bridge piers will be nailed 75 meters deep. Minister Yıldırım stated that the feet of the bridge will rise until the beginning of the year, and that the total excavation work is 152 million cubic meters and 10 thousand trucks are excavated daily. Minister Yıldırım started the first drilling process in Belkahve tunnels using the construction machine.
Yıldırım then examined the construction works of Sabuncubeli Tunnels. Reminding that the total length of the two tunnels is 8 thousand 114 kilometers, the winding road between Manisa and Izmir is mentioned as 'Terrible Sabuncubeli' even in Evliya Çelebi's Travelogue, and said that the tunnels will be opened in three years.
