Raybüs flights start between Adapazarı and Istanbul
The Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binalı Yıldırım, came to Yarımca Construction Site in Körfez District of Kocaeli to get a briefing about the High Speed Train Line.
Making a statement about the latest situation of High Speed Train Line studies, Minister Yıldırım stated that test drives will start after 30th of September and said:
“The distance between Gebze Köseköy is 56 kilometers. As of now, the entire line has been completely dismantled. Excavation and filling works are at 96 percent level. All art structures have been completed by 99 percent, sub-foundation 71 percent, sub-ballast 68 percent and ballast pavement 38 percent. An average of 1 and a half kilometers of line laying work is carried out daily. In summary, the ballast job will be finished on August 14, and the entire line will be finished on September 14. The electrical works and the signal works will be completely finished by the 30th of September, so the line will be ready for test drives. Current work continues as planned. There is no bottleneck problem. The opening of YHT will take place within a month after the test drives. The electric Raybus between Adapazarı and Istanbul will start after the test drives. When this line ends, there will be regular high-speed train services on the Adapazarı-Istanbul line, and there will also be new trains running regularly from Istanbul to Izmit to Sakarya.
