Countdown started on YHT line
The high-speed train (YHT) line, which will reduce the railway transportation between Ankara and Istanbul from 7 hours to 3 hours, is working non-stop to put into service on October 29, Republic Day.

According to the information obtained from the General Directorate of State Railways (TCDD), the YHT line, which was started to be built in 2003 between Ankara and Eskişehir, was put into service on 13 March 2009.

Site delivery to the contractor firm on October 1, 21 in Köseköy-Vezirhan section (section-2008) on Eskişehir-İstanbul line, on September 2, 22 in Vezirhan-İnönü section (section-2008), and on November 25, 2011 for Gebze-Köseköy Rehabilitation Project done.

With the opening of the line on October 29, 2013, the rail travel time between the two metropolitan cities will decrease from approximately 7 hours to 3 hours. It is aimed to increase the passenger share of the railways with increased competition chance from 10 percent to 70 percent.

Ankara-Istanbul YHT, Marmaray, Halkalı-Kapıkule, Ankara-Sivas-Kars, Baku-Tbilisi and Kars railways projects will provide high-quality rail connections between Europe and Caucasus, Far East Asia and Middle East countries.

About one thousand 500 people are working

Within the scope of the studies, 38 kilometer tunnel was excavated, 10 km viaduct, 40 underpass, 13 overpass and 123 aperture were completed. The infrastructure of the 150 kilometer of the 72 kilometer was completed and the superstructure work was started.

The Ankara-Istanbul 2nd Stage High Speed ​​Train Project in Kocaeli, the excavation and filling works of the route in the Köseköy-Sapanca section, the displacement works of the existing conventional line and the existing infrastructures of the institutions continue.

In the scope of Gebze-Köseköy Rehabilitation Project, excavation-filling works are continuing on the route, and rail and catenary dismantling operations have been completed.

Köseköy-Vezirhan and Vezirhan-İnönü sections of Ankara-Istanbul High Speed ​​Train Project will have a length of approximately 148, and Gebze-Köseköy Rehabilitation Project will have a length of 55 kilometers.

29 kilometers of line were dismantled within the scope of Gebze-Köseköy Rehabilitation Project during the works carried out with a team of 2013 people in order to complete the opening of the line on October 500, 101.

50 thousand passenger destination

While the Köseköy-Vezirhan section of the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line is planned to be completed with a cost of 923 million 999 thousand 952 dollars and the Vezirhan-İnönü section with a cost of 854 million 225 dollars, the contract price of the Gebze-Köseköy Rehabilitation Project has been determined as 146 million 825 thousand 952 Euros.

80 thousand people are traveling by bus, special vehicles, airplane and conventional train in Ankara-Istanbul corridor and 10 bin is expected to be used by 50 thousand people.
