Ropeway Project to Trabzon: Trabzon Mayor Orhan Fevzi Gümrükçüoğlu organized an evaluation meeting regarding the route and construction of the ropeway project at the Municipal Assembly Hall. Representatives of non-governmental organizations, trade associations and political parties, faculty members and municipal council members attended the meeting. In his speech here, Gümrükçüoğlu said that the ropeway project was included in the “61 projects” they promised before the elections.
Stating that they do not have a clear attitude regarding the construction of the ropeway, Gümrükçüoğlu said, “If we give up this project as a result of the investigations we have made in connection with the developing and changing Trabzon in the process, we will make this decision with civilized courage and tell our citizens. There is no trouble in that either. Many provinces did it, and we did not necessarily think we should do it. If we will do this project in line with the ideas that have emerged, of course, we will start the project until March 2014. If we are to do this, we will do it as Trabzon Municipality. We have 8-9 months for this, ”he said.
Gümrükçüoğlu also promised the participants at the meeting. Stating that their opinions and suggestions will be taken into consideration, Gümrükçüoğlu said, “We take note of the ideas you put forward at this meeting one by one. Your opinions and suggestions will guide us. "We will continue our efforts to provide the best service to this historical city in unity and solidarity."
