PKP Pendolino Fast Trains 2014 Will Be Served At The End
In 2011, the 20 high speed train agreement was signed between the PKP (Polskie Koleje Państwowe SA - Polish State Railways) and French Alstom. The models were prepared and the first Pendolino will be tested this summer.

"In December, 2014 will open for the use of high-speed trains," said Transport Minister Slawomir Nowak.

The Pendolino is able to drive 250 miles per hour, but will not exceed 200 km in Polish lines (due to infrastructure). Nevertheless, there will be a great decline in the distance between cities. For example, the current travel time between Warsaw and Krakow will shorten the 1 hours and the 2 clock will fall to 15 minutes.

High-speed trains provide services: Warsaw, Warsaw, Katowice, Gliwice and Krakow in the south and Rzeszow in the southeast.

The overall investment is around 17 million euros, including operating costs during the first 665 year.

Janusz Malinowski, President of PKP Intercity, said, “It is too early to say how much the tickets will be, but the prices will be affordable for everyone. PK
