Criminal complaint about accelerated train accident was decided not to prosecute

The criminal complaint about the accelerated train accident was decided not to pursue: The decision of non-prosecution was filed against the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yıldırım.

On 22 July 2004, Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office decided not to prosecute the criminal complaint filed by the People's Liberation Party (HKP) against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yıldırım regarding the crash of the accelerated train in Pamukova district of Sakarya on XNUMX July XNUMX.

In the decision of non-prosecution given by the Parliamentary Office, the HKP's criminal complaint was summarized. In the criminal complaint, author Cüneyt Ülsever alleged that Prime Minister Erdoğan was the person who ordered the high-speed train in a magazine published in March 2013. In the application petition, it was reminded that according to the 100th article of the Constitution and 107th article of the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Internal Regulations, “the authority to investigate the Prime Minister and the Ministers belongs to the TGNA”. Therefore, it was noted in the decision that there is no room for investigation and prosecution against Erdoğan and Yıldırım.

HKP's lawyers appealed to the Sincan High Criminal Court regarding the decision of non-prosecution.
