In Yenikapı, which will be the new intersection point of Istanbul transportation for the last 180 days in Marmaray, the project of the century, the works at the Marmaray Station have been completed by 90 percent. A feverish work is underway to put Marmaray, the project of the century that connects the two continents, into service on 29 October.

Gebze and Halkalı There are 76.3 stations on the surface and 105 underground stations in Marmaray, which will reduce the duration of the 37 kilometer journey between the two stations to 3 minutes. Underground stations are in Üsküdar, Yenikapı and Sirkeci. Yenikapı Station is one of the most intensive works. In Yenikapı, which was designed as a transfer center that will be integrated with the Taksim-Yenikapı and Yenikapı-Airport lines of the Istanbul Metro, the Marmaray Station has been completed by 90 percent. Roof covering, escalators, flooring and fire systems of the station are ready. Ventilation system and elevator works are in progress. Istanbul Metro works of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, right next to the station, are also continuing rapidly. There are 13 elevators and 3 escalators on the passenger platform, which is 17 meters below sea level. The station, which will also include connecting corridors to the Istanbul metro, will serve 75 thousand passengers per hour.
