New pedestrian bridge in Halkapınar, Izmir
Completion of the bridge expansion project at Halkapınar Station where Metro and İZBAN transfers were made by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality was completed. The width of the existing steel footbridge was increased from 1.85 to 7 meters. The staircases were turned into two-way escalators and the elevator was mounted.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Aliaga-Menderes Suburban System / İZBAN and İzmir Metro, which provides the integration between Halkapınar Station to perform the transfer operations faster and passenger density due to the contraction of the first stage of the work done to eliminate. In Halkapınar Station, the existing steel pedestrian bridge, which provides pedestrian crossings to Çınarlı direction, was removed and its width was increased from 1.85 to 7 meters. Within the scope of the works, the fixed stairways at the bridge end were transformed into a two-way escalator and an elevator was installed, especially for the use of disabled citizens. After the renewed and expanded bridges have been put into service, the passengers using IZBAN and Metro have now been able to transfer more easily. The opening of the new bridge from the planned time and the end of the congestion during the construction period, the passengers were happy with the station.

In the coming days, the work will be completed and the Hilal Station, which will be opened in the second existing steel bridge in Halkapınar to expand the work will begin. When the width of the current 2,60 is increased to 4 meters, the fixed number of 3 stairs will be removed to the 6 and converted to the escalator and the top will be closed.
