Istanbul Traffic Problem to be solved by Metro and Rail System
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is trying to find a solution to the problem with Metro and light rail systems to minimize the traffic problem in Istanbul.

For years, Istanbul's biggest problem has been traffic. Although many investments were made in order to solve the traffic problem of Istanbul and even though it is being done, it was unable to meet the rapidly growing Istanbul population. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is trying to find a solution to the problem with Metro and light rail systems to minimize the traffic problem in Istanbul.

9 billion TL of 60 billion TL, the 24.6-year budget of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, has been allocated to transportation expenses. The targeted investment amount for transportation only in 2013 was 4 Billion TL. The statement made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is 13 km long, Yenibosna-İkitelli Güney Sanayii light subway and 6.5 km long Kabataş-The 2nd stage of Mahmutbey Metro will be completed and put into service in 2013.

In addition to the ongoing transportation projects in Istanbul, there are 7 subway and light rail projects at the planning and tender stage. With the realization of these projects, the traffic problem in Istanbul is expected to be greatly alleviated. Of course, the planned new metro lines will have a big impact on the re-determination of real estate prices in those regions.
