Level crossing accident: 1 dead, 2 injured
One of the 3 people on the truck was allegedly hit by the train on the TCDD level crossing.
1 person died and 2 people were injured in the accident that occurred at the level crossing between Torbalı and Selçuk. The passenger train number 32251, which makes the Basmane-Denizli expedition, collided with 26 TRC 35 plate pickup trucks used by Cemalettin Yıldırım (23) at the level crossing of the old Kozpınar station near Belevi Keçi Castle. Elif Seyhan Yıldırım (6) lost her life in the vehicle, which was blown due to the impact, while her brother Gazi Yıldırım (3) and father Cemalettin Yıldırım were seriously injured. The wounded, who were taken to the hospitals in Torbalı and Selçuk, were transferred to İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital after the first intervention. Train services stopped due to the accident restarted with an delay of approximately one hour after the investigation at the scene was completed. In the written statement made by the General Directorate of TCDD, it was said that the passenger train number 32251, which made the Basmane-Denizli expedition, hit the side of the 35 TRC 23 plate van.
