The Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Yıldırım was given the "Political Vision and High Level Support Award for Public Transport" by the International Association of Public Transporters in Geneva.


The Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali Yıldırım, was given the "Political Vision and High Level Support Award for Public Transport", also known as the "Transportation Oscar", at the 60th International Association of Public Transport (UITP) Congress.

Minister Yıldırım was welcomed by the Swiss Transport Minister Doris Leuthard and UITP Secretary General Alain Flausch upon his arrival at the congress in Palexpo.

After the speeches made at the Congress, Minister Yıldırım was invited to the stage by Flausch and UITP President Osman Thiam, “Political Vision for Public Transport and High Level Support Award was presented.

In his speech in English, Yıldırım expressed his pleasure for attending the 60th congress of UITP and thanked for the award.

At the congress, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality received an award for its success in realizing public transportation projects.

Later, Minister Yıldırım opened the "Mobility and Urban Transport Fair" with the Swiss Minister Leuthard and visited Otokar and Temsa stands at the fair.
