Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Library and Documentation Department distributed books to the passengers on the tram due to the "April 23 World Book Reading Day".

The book distribution, which started at the Rail System University Station, continued with passengers riding along the way. Passengers who received the books distributed on the train thanked the attendants. OMU Library and Documentation Department Head Ömer Bozkurt and students attended the book distribution event.

Making a statement about the event, Library and Documentation Department Head Ömer Bozkurt said, “The purpose of this campaign; emphasizing the importance of the book and the habit of reading, encouraging reading; to promote respect for publication, the right to broadcast, freedom of thought and expression; is to serve peace with the quality of the book that provides cultural exchange and develops mutual understanding and tolerance. We believe that such a day is very important in a world where the habit of reading books is gradually decreasing, and developing computer technologies affect adolescents' and children's reading. "A book that we will present to our loved ones on April 23, World Book Reading Day will be a small but important step in their gaining reading habit and meeting with books again."

Emphasizing that the best gift is a book, Bozkurt completed his words with the call of “Let us gift books to our loved ones on April 23, World Book Day.”

The book distribution event, which continued until the Gar Station, ended again at the University Station.
