Yıldız Technical University Faculty Member Dr. The Rageos (Rail Line Geometry Measurement System) device developed by Burak Akpınar will end the train accidents caused by the deterioration in the rail. Reducing the measurement made every 5 meters with classical measurement methods to 1 centimeter, rageos measures 10 times faster.
Expressing that especially high-speed train lines have developed in Turkey in recent years, Akpınar said that the test work of the device was successful and that they contacted the Turkish Republic State Railways for use, and that they would develop the device in order to detect microcracks on the rails. Akpınar said, “Thanks to this device, deficiencies in the line are detected effectively.”
