No construction in Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line
Mehmet Habip Soluk, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, said about the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line, "We do not have any construction in the region due to financial shortages."
Soluk told reporters that AK Party Kars deputies Ahmet Arslan and Yunus Kılıç and the Governor Eyüp Tepe had a misfortune on the BTK railway line.
stating that the project revision for the remainder of the line to go to Pale in Georgia, and noted that the volume of business due to changes in the slope of the ground and land in Turkey.
Reminding that the line was previously awarded as a single route, Soluk gave the following information:
“Since it is the route that will connect Beijing to London, the decision to remove it from the double line was designed during the period of my esteemed deputy general manager. Therefore, we had to go to a supply tender. Our supply tender ended in March 2012. We made the contract. Maybe they started. We do not have any construction that stops due to the lack of money in the region. "
Soluk said that despite the crisis in 2009, investments continued to increase and that they could not afford to pay for the unproduced work.
