Roadside intelligent inspection stations are coming. The Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications will establish a new roadside inspection station at 23 as part of the Technical Support Project for Weight and Size Controls of EU Supported Commercial Vehicles.
WHAT IS GOING TO?
A new project was launched by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, involving weight and size control in transportation by commercial vehicles on highways. EU-funded, in the Technical Support Project for Weight and Size Controls of Commercial Vehicles, trucks accordance with EU regulations, tractors, trailers, buses, minibuses and pickup trucks such as heavy transport vehicles, Turkey established to all of the controls to be made by modern stations, proper weight to the rules and it is aimed to provide transportation in size.
The project will increase the number of stations that carry weight and size controls and control capacity of commercial transport vehicles. The technological infrastructure of the stations will be strengthened and modernized. Automatic measurement of the size of the stations and pre-notification of intelligent transportation system will be installed.
Within the scope of the project, after the training of the 60 trainer in the programs is completed, these trainers will be trained by 200 audit personnel.
Yılmaz Guide, Head of Department of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, General Directorate of Highway Regulation, reminded that by the end of 2006, the task of carrying out roadside weight and dimension checks was transferred to the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications. Stating that the number of vehicles inspected at that time was 20 thousand, it exceeded 2012 million as of the end of 16. Stating that with the improvements provided in the stations, the vehicles are now inspected at low speeds without being stopped at these stations, and that this saves time.
