Olsen Sedra Company Wins the Tender to Extend the Tram in Athens

Edilon Sedra announced the acquisition of the Embedded Rail Systems (ERS) and Urban Slab Parts System (USTS) tender for the extension of the Athens Tram to the Port of Piraeus.

The tram, which will run through the 5,5 km-long single line, will connect with the Metro Line 1 at the Neo Faliro stop. This will enable the connection between Athina and the second most populous city of Piraeus. The tram line is planned to pass through the area where the population of the city is dense and the stock market is located.

The vibration control determined by the noise and control authority Attiko Metro S is perfectly compatible with Edilon Sedra's Embedded Rail Systems (ERS) technology, which provides continuous elastic support between the rails.

The project's general contractor, the Greek Themeli SA, won the project on a turnkey basis for € 61.5M. Edilon Sedra Company will contribute to the project with technical support, training and quality control assistance, general system design, material supply and provision.

The construction of the project is planned to start in the summer of 2013, and the project is expected to be completed in the 2015 year at the earliest.
