Kadir Topbaş said that Üsküdar Çekmeköy metro line will be connected with a cable car to be established between Altunizade and Mecidiyeköy. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbaş started the work to be done with a tunnel boring machine in the construction of Ümraniye Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe metro line with a ceremony held at Ümraniye station.
WORKING UNDERGROUND AND ABOVE GROUND
Speaking at the ceremony, Kadir Topbaş said that TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) will excavate 22 meters per day. Topbaş said, “We are building the city with iron nets from underground. Thousands of people work underground, day and night. While life goes on above, studies are being carried out to ensure that people living in Istanbul do not experience problems in transportation under any circumstances. Noting that 700 thousand people will be transported daily on the second metro line of the Anatolian side, Mayor Topbaş stated that the line consists of 16 stations.
