Located in the Baskil district of Elazig, the Euphrates Railway Bridge, which was the third in the world and the longest in Turkey at the time it was built, connects the provinces of Elazig and Malatya, and is also used as a passageway.

The foundation of the bridge, whose construction cost is 22 million TL, is pile, and its feet are reinforced concrete floors. The Fırat Railway Bridge, which is located between the Fırat Train Station in Battalgazi district of Malatya and Kuşsarayi Train Station of the Baskil district of Elazığ, has a width of 4.5 meters, a height of 6 meters and a tonnage of 20 tons.

Karakaya dam built on the Euphrates Railway Bridge is Turkey's longest railway bridge. The 2.030 m long bridge is 60 m high and is built on 30 reinforced concrete pillars, each weighing 366 tons and 65 steel beams of 29 m length. Steel beams were placed at ground level between reinforced concrete legs and then lifted into place by hydraulic jacks. In construction; 1.100 tons of weight, 243 m long floating steel service bridge, 11.327 tons of reinforced concrete and 119.320 m³ concrete, 70 cm diameter 420 m rock anchor piles were used in the foundation. The bridge was opened to transportation on June 16, 1986.
