Samsun Light rail system carried 2012 million passengers in 21.7. Samulaş General Manager Akın Üner. The rail system, which carried 2011 million passengers in 17, reached 2012 million in 21.7. By the beginning of 2014, our train number will increase to 21.
The light rail system of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality carried 2012 million passengers in 21.7.
Samulaş General Manager Akın Üner said that the light rail system carried 2012 percent more passengers in 2011 compared to 30.7. Stating that they are working with the slogan “Samulaş is a Big Family with its Passengers”, Akın Üner said, “We are trying to fulfill this requirement. We, as the Samulaş family, evaluated this year very well. We strengthened our corporate infrastructure. We think that we are a company that has become the brand of Samsun, which serves better and wider. In 2011, we carried 17 million passengers. In 2012, we increased this number to 21.7 million. We had a significant passenger increase of 30.7 percent. On the other hand, our income is reflected in this. While we earned around 2011 million TL in 17, we increased it to 2012 million TL in 21.7. Our increase reflected as 27.6 percent. The most important reason for this increase is that our passengers now choose quality and prefer us rather than other competitive factors. At the same time, with the introduction of the rail system, the increase in the number of passengers has occurred due to the intense urbanization around the rail system and the effect of this.
Expressing that they will buy 2014 new trams in 5 due to the intensity, Üner said: “Our trams occasionally experience difficulties due to excessive density. In order to solve this problem, we did 5 new tram purchases at the end of this year. We made an agreement with a Chinese company. According to our agreement on this matter, the Chinese company will arrive in Samsun, the first party of our new trams, after 12 months, in December of next year. All 2014 trams will arrive in early 5. Our 16 numbers on the tram will increase to 21. However, all jams in the rail system will be eliminated. The 5 trams that will come from China will be longer than each of the current trams, and therefore their capacity will be higher. But we have opened an express bus line in order to stop the congestion until this date. There is also a great interest in this express passenger bus line. The daily average rose to around 6-7 thousand. As Samulaş, we are at the service of Samsun people with 16 trams and 41 buses. We maintain our excitement to carry this service further. ”
In the rail system, which was put into service on October 10, 2010, 5 female and 49 watts are employed, employing 311 people in total.
