TCDD goes at the Speed of High Speed: According to the data, 1950 km of railway was built in 2002 years between 52 and 945, while in the last 9 years, exactly 86 km of railway was built. The Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), continues increasing their attacks on railway transport. According to the information note prepared by TCDD for the 2013 budget, very important developments have been achieved in the field of railways, especially in TCDD High Speed Train works.
RAILWAY INVESTMENT INCREASED 7,5 FLOOR
Accordingly, investment allowances in railways, which were once again a priority sector after 2003, were increased 7,5 times. A forgotten sector was revived with the investments made. In this context, the privilege of high-speed train transportation was prioritized and it was aimed to direct the citizens to the train journey again. The distance covered in the high-speed train was also revealed by the high-speed train that started to operate between Ankara and Eskişehir, and the rail transport share, which was 8 percent in the previous period, increased to 72 percent.

The 12 hours and 25 minutes travel time between Istanbul and Konya has decreased to 5 hours and 30 minutes, and with the completion of the Eskişehir-Istanbul YHT Line, it will be reduced to 3 hours 30 minutes.

In the information note, information about other YHT projects was also given, “Sivas-Erzincan Project, which is a continuation of the Ankara-Sivas YHT Project, continues. The connection of YHT with Bursa has been planned by constructing a new 110 km railway. With the completion of the project, the travel time between Ankara and Bursa will be 2 hours and 15 minutes. In addition, with the realization of the project that will facilitate the transportation between the most important cities of our country such as Ankara and Izmir, it is planned to travel between Ankara and Afyon in 1,5 hours and Afyon-İzmir in 2,5 hours, Ankara-İzmir in 3 hours 30 minutes. Tender studies are continuing in the Polatlı-Afyonkarahisar section, the first phase of the Ankara-İzmir YHT project.
TARGET, 25 TWO KM RAILWAY
